BIG lottery Reaching Communities

We want to fund projects that respond to needs identified by communities, and those that fund projects that help those most in need including those people or groups who are hard to reach.

We want to encourage the following changes to communities as a result of our funding:

  • people having better chances in life, including being able to get better access to training and development to improve their life skills
  • strong communities, with more active citizens, working together to tackle their problems
  • improved rural and urban environments, which communities are better able to access and enjoy
  • healthier and more active people and communities.
 

Children in Need

Grants are open to organisations working with disadvantaged children and young people who are 18 years old and under.Your organisation and project must be based in the UK and you need to be a registered charity or other not-for-profit organisation.

Within the general grants programme, you can apply for:

  • Small Grants of £10,000 or less per year for up to three years
  • Main Grants over £10,000 per year for up to three years
 

Francis C Scott Charitable Trust

Overall aim is to support charities who are addressing the needs of 0-19 year olds in the most deprived communities in Cumbria and North Lancashire, the following are our key priority areas:

  • Early Years / Family Support work
  • Children’s work
  • Youth work

This Trust has long supported developmental work with teenagers and will continue to fund those projects addressing the needs of the most disadvantaged within this age group.
 

Cumbria Community Foundation

Help to strengthen communities by using your money to make grants that support charities and volunteers, helping people in need in Cumbria. There a number of funds specific to West Cumbria including the Nuclear Management Partners and Coalfield Regeneration Funds
 

Hadfield Trust 

The Trust aims to help registered charities, or those with charitable objectives, working in Cumbria. Priorities include social needs; youth and employment; older people; the arts; the environment. Usually one-off grants of £500- £5000 (average £1,000 – £3,000).
 

HOME Group

Are one of the leading providers of affordable and supported housing for people in the UK.  We work to deliver improvements to communities and provide homes for those who may struggle to get them. By making a difference locally, providing excellent customer service and being flexible and adaptable, we will meet the needs and demands of the people who live in the neighbourhoods we serve. Home manages 52,000 homes and provides care and support services to more than 20,000 people across the UK each year.

We look to fund local and national projects that benefit our customers and the neighbourhoods they live in. Small and larger grants are available through our Local Supporting Communities Fund, National Supporting Communities Fund and the Copeland Homes Investment Fund which is specific for the Copeland areas of our business. Comic Relief

Comic Relief’s UK Grant Programme aims to bring about positive and lasting change in the lives of poor and disadvantaged people in the UK by investing in work that addresses people’s immediate needs, as well as tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice.Registered charities and voluntary organisations (including social enterprises and community interest companies) in the UK are invited to apply for grants of between £25,000 and £40,000. Grants are available to cover running or capital costs of organisations or projects under the following programmes:

  • Mental Health.
  • Domestic and Sexual Abuse.
  • Refugee and Asylum Seeking Women.
  • Sexually Exploited and Trafficked Young People.
  • Young People and Alcohol.
  • Young People with Mental Health Problems.
  • Local Communities.
 

Lloyd TSB Foundation

Our aim is to support charities that help disadvantaged people play a fuller role in the community through delivering lasting changes and benefits for their users/beneficiaries.Our funding is needs-driven and our portfolio of grant making programmes is designed to fund issues that affect individuals as well as multiple communities
 

Northern Rock Foundation

grant programmes exist to support charitable activities that have particular results, and which contribute to our aims: tackling disadvantage and improving quality of life in North East England and Cumbria. Each programme focuses on outcomes – changes or results – that we are interested in. Within the programmes there are approaches that we think work best to bring about those changes
